On the eve of the automated elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Elections Commissioner Leonardo Leonida visited the Cotabato City Polytechnic College, the designated counting center for the province Shariff Kabunsuan, to oversee last minute preparations.
Commissioner Leonida is the COMELEC’s Commissioner-in-charge for the province of Sharriff Kabunsuan. Accompanying Leonida was his chief of staff Atty. Mike Abbas, COMELEC spokesman and education and information chief James Jimenez and Provincial Elections Supervisor Mr. Kasan P. Usi.
“I’m here to make sure the preparations are in place. We expect Shariff Kabunsuan to be the first to transmit its results,” Commissioner Leonida said.
The Commissioner also called on all the ARMM voters to participate in tomorrow’s historic balloting saying that the automated polls are “meaningful and trustworthy.”
“Huwag sana nilang palagpasin ang pagkakataon na maging bahagi ng kasaysayan. Bukas, tinatawagan ko ang mga mamamayan dito sa ARMM na lumahok sa halalan dahil ito ay magiging kapani-paniwala at makahulugan,” he said.
