‘Loving Lolo’ – Poll Chief takes time to chat with kids at COMELEC Story-telling activity

Despite his busy schedule, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman Sixto S. Brillantes Jr., took the time to bond and chat with children during a Story-telling activity at the COMELEC Main Office.

Entitled, “Bright Child, Smart Voter”, the COMELEC’s activity is in celebration of the 20th National Children’s Month. At the story-telling activity, Chairman Brillantes greeted the children participants who are children of COMELEC, National Transmission Corporation (Transco) employees.

He told the children to learn from all the stories told during the activity. “Dapat maging mabait kayo. Mag-aral kayong mabuti,” said Brillantes. One child even sat at his lap while he spoke.

The Chairman underscored the need to educate the children on the importance of voting and elections.

“Dapat habang bata pa lang, tinuturuan na natin silang maging responsableng mamamayan ‘pag-laki nila. Dapat natin silang turuan tungkol sa kahalagahan ng pagboto at eleksyon sa ating lipunan,” he said.

After the story-telling activity, Chairman Brillantes officially turned-over all children’s books collected in the month-long COMELEC book-drive to Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) Executive Director Brenda S. Vigo. ###
