COMELEC goes malling for voter registration: Poll registration booths at Robinsons Malls to be launched Saturday

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced today that it will establish voter registration booths at Robinsons Malls across the country to encourage the mall going public to register and have their biometric records taken.

To drum up public support for the endeavor, the COMELEC together with representatives from the Robinsons Land Corporation will hold launching ceremonies of voter registration booths at Robinsons Place Manila, Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, Robinsons Metro East Pasig City and Forum Robinsons in Mandaluyong on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 in the morning.

A simple ceremony to be capped with a ribbon cutting rites to be led by COMELEC and Robinsons officials will be held at the abovementioned malls.

COMELEC Chairman Sixto S. Brillantes will grace the launching ceremonies at Robinsons Place Manila while Commissioners Lucenito Tagle, Elias Yusoph and Al Parreno will be at Robinsons Galleria. Commissioner Luie Guia will lead the opening rites at Robinsons Metro East while Commissioner Christian Robert Lim will be at the Forum Robinsons.

COMELEC Spokesman James Jimenez, meanwhile, urged the mall going public to take the opportunity to register and have their biometric data captured at Robinsons Malls nationwide. He said voter registration booths at Robinsons malls shall run until October 15, 2015 as per the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed last August 18, 2014 by the COMELEC and the Robinsons Land Corporation.
